At HTS AUSTRALIA we believe that our business activities should be undertaken in a safe and environmentally sustainable manner.
We conduct our business in a way that ensures the general health and well-being of our employees, contractors and any person affected by our activities.
We recognise that continuous improvement of both our environmental and health and safety performance is essential for us to continue to be a successful company. We strive to encourage a rigorous health and safety culture within the organisation. Everyone in the company has responsibility for their own and others’ health and safety, but overall accountability rests with the management.
Through recycling wastage, a number of benefits can be achieved:
Substantial energy savings can be made by using waste materials rather than raw materials, these energy savings can be made from reducing transportation emissions and the process of raw materials.
The amount of material that requires landfill is reduced. This not only prolongs the life of the steadily diminishing landfill sites but also reduces the amount of gases released into the atmosphere from this process.
Aluminium and steel, the main components used in the construction of our modular tent systems have a scrap value, potentially rendering the process of disposing of the material at the end of its life.
Our core principles include:
Working environment: We are committed in providing a safe and healthy workplace for our employees and minimising the potential impact on the environment through the adoption of sustainable practices and continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Recycling: We strive to recycle all wastage generated during the manufacturing process using environmentally friendly and sustainable methods. The recyclability of our core product lines are 88% – meaning at the end of a product’s long life, the majority of component parts can be fully recycled.
Management systems: Effective environmental management systems ensure environmental awareness within our workforce, encouraging every employee to act in an environmentally responsible manner.
Continuous improvement: To improve the environmental performance of our processes and products through research and development of new technologies, preventing and reducing emissions and releases, minimising waste and controlling noise.
Sustainable development: To contribute to sustainable development by using energy, water and raw materials efficiently, thus minimising our use of natural resources.
Product stewardship: To promote the recovery, recycling and re-use of our products and to work with our customers to understand the environmental effects of our products throughout their life cycle.
Suppliers and contractors: To encourage suppliers and sub-contractors to behave in a responsible manner and to maintain sound environmental practices.
